Our story

Where we started

Born within Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, we founded Guy's Cancer Academy in 2018. We created award-winning online courses that have reached over 300,000 healthcare professionals and people with cancer worldwide.

How we grew

Our reputation for developing high-impact, scalable learning quickly spread. We expanded beyond cancer into dermatology, anaesthetics, and imaging to name a few – partnering with leading academies across the NHS. We also developed partnerships with international organisations to help develop and upskill their workforces.

What's next

We have spun out to grow and make an even bigger impact. Still rooted in our NHS values and keeping a close connection to Guy's and St Thomas' Foundation Trust's world-class clinical expertise, we're now partnering with hospitals globally, building healthcare-focussed learning platforms and reimagining how healthcare education works.

Our founders

Our founding team has worked together for over six years, building Guy’s Cancer Academy into an internationally recognised leader in cancer education. Now, they’re applying that same experience and philosophy to healthcare education more broadly.

Bhaveet Radia

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer

Bhav is an online learning expert with over 15 years’ experience in learning design and strategy. He has led award-winning projects across the NHS, higher education and the private sector. He is completing a doctorate at the University of Cambridge focused on professional development in the NHS.

Dr Simon Hughes

Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer

Simon is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and Honorary Reader at King’s College London. He has nearly 2 decades of experience leading undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He plays a leading role in global oncology education.

Thanks to the Learning Lab's guidance and collaboration, we now have a high-quality blended learning programme that integrates evidence-based content, engaging online modules, and practical application.

We're currently in the pilot phase, and the initial feedback from our learners has excellent - highlighting the relevance, clarity, and impact of the material. This partnership has laid a strong foundation for scaling the programme further, and we’re genuinely excited about the potential to expand its reach.
